Pastoral Staff
Pastor Jon Grimshaw
Pastor Jon Grimshaw and his wife Sandy have been married for over 40 years. They have three children, two in-law children, and ten beautiful grandkids.
Jon has served as the pastor at Lakeview Community Church since 2011. He and Sandy have served in pastoral ministry for over 25 years, and previously traveled extensively throughout Michigan with their children singing in churches and auditoriums.
In addition to pastoring, Jon teaches 6th Grade Bible at Oakland Christian School in Auburn Hills, Michigan. His favorite pastimes include cars (and anything car-related), music, sketching, reading, and spending time with family.
Sandy is the owner of Sweet Whimsies Desserts. She serves home baked desserts with ice cream from her vintage camping trailer that has been converted to a food trailer, and she lovingly named “Maggie.”
Ministry Style & Methods
“My methods of pastoring have been shaped by years spent in the workplace - managing retail grocery stores and working in the insurance industry - and the years now spent serving in pastoral ministry. As a pastor and teacher, my goal is to both teach and demonstrate Biblical principles in a way that provides both context and practical real-life application. I believe that the timeless truths of scripture are more than abstract ideas for scholars to dissect and discuss, and that faith is more than just theory. Unless people can see a direct connection between God’s Word and real life situations, they will not benefit from the incredible wisdom God has made available to each of us.” - Pastor Jon

Beth Symanzik
Associate Pastor - Pastoral Care
Beth’s passion is to help others grow in their knowledge and love for God and His Word through Bible study, music, and counsel. She have been involved with Lakeview Community Church since 2021. Her family served in missions in the Philippines for 12 years. She completed a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling (non-licensure) and is a member of the American Christian Counseling Association. Her favorite pastimes include playing piano, spending time with family, hiking, baking, woodworking, reading, and writing. Kurt and Beth have been married for over 35 years. They have five children, one son-in-love, one grandchild, and another on the way.

Kurt Symanzik
Associate Pastor - Teaching
Kurt is honored to serve as a volunteer associate pastor at Lakeview Community Church. Whether sharing a message from God’s Word on a Sunday morning or serving alongside neighbors at The Table food pantry, his passion is helping others grow in their understanding of what it means to live in God’s kingdom.
Kurt and his wife, Beth, spent 12 years as missionaries in the Philippines, an experience that profoundly shaped their hearts for ministry. Today, he balances his pastoral calling with a career as a software engineer, developing tools designed specifically for Christian missions and ministries. He has walked with Christ for more than 40 years and holds a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Taylor University.
Married for 35 years, he and Beth now enjoy one of their greatest blessings—embracing their newest role as proud grandparents.

Elizabeth Connor
Board Treasurer
Elizabeth has been married to Brian since 2005. They moved to Goodrich in 2015 where they are raising their three sons; Reed, Henry, and Robert. She has been a member of Lakeview since 2018, serving as board secretary from 2018-2022 and then board treasurer since then.

Sandy Stevens

Sandy has been married to David for 11 years and between them both they have 6 children, and 6 grandchildren. She has been here at Lakeview for 3 years. She volunteers at the Pantry and has completed her first year as the secretary for the church board.
Jean Smith
Hospitality Coordinator
Jean and her husband have been married for 60 years. They have 2 children, Steven and Anita (Rich). They also have 4 grandchildren, 1 grand daughter-in-law and 2 great-grandchild. She enjoys entertaining and her dog named Keeton which is always by her side.
Steven Pasteiner
HEAD DEACON
Steve has been married to Jan for 35 years. They have one son, Max and a wonderful daughter-in-law, Sarah. They have attended Lakeview for over 25 years.

Dan and his wife Sandy have 2 daughters; Alexis (22) and Elizabeth (21), and a dog named Rango.
Brian has been married to Elizabeth since 2005. They moved to Goodrich in 2015 where they are raising their three sons; Reed, Henry, and Robert. Brian has been a member and served as a trustee since 2018.

Jenna and her Husband Frank have 3 kids together , Ava (11) Owen (8) Lainey (4). They love their slow simple country life. They have egg layers , raise meat birds, have lots of gardens and two beautiful labs , Dixie (silver lab) Remi (Black lab) .
Jan Pasteiner
The Table Coordinator
Jan has been married to Steve for 35 years. She has one son, Max and a wonderful daughter-in-law, Sarah. She’s attended Lakeview for over 25 years and has served as the pantry coordinator for over five years.
Cassie LeBeau
The Movement Coordinator
Cassie and her husband, Matt, have been married for 26 years. They have 2 sons, Simon and Harvey. She is extremely active in many community organizations and loves spending time with her pets, Gadget and Murray.
